Synopsis

In 1972, just before Okinawa’s return to Japanese sovereignty, an armored vehicle carrying $1 million in U.S. dollars is ambushed and vanishes without a trace. Fearing that a failure to complete the yen-to-dollar exchange could escalate into a major diplomatic crisis between Japan and the United States, the Ryukyu Police quietly assemble a special task force to resolve the case behind closed doors.

Leading the team is Maeda Taishi (Takahashi Issei), recently reassigned to Okinawa from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. He is joined by Yonaha (Aoki Munetaka), a fellow classmate who now heads the Criminal Investigation Division and sees Maeda as his rival, along with veteran officer Tamashiro (Kobayashi Kaoru), who is nearing retirement.

The time limit for solving the case is 18 days. The investigations progression leads to many twists and turns and even involves local businesses, Okinawan gangsters, and US military personnel.

With time running out, will Maeda and his team be able to recover the money and find the culprit within the deadline? The battle for Okinawa’s future begins!
