The new drama “Watashi no Takaramono,” starring Matsumoto Wakana, will premiere on October 17th (Thursday) at 10 PM.

The show explores the theme of “takuran” (the act of secretly raising a child conceived with another man as one’s own), focusing on a woman who becomes a scheming villain to protect her “precious treasure.” The plot revolves around her complex relationships with her husband and her childhood friend, portrayed by Tanaka Kei and Fukazawa Tatsuya (Snow Man), respectively.

Recently revealed visuals of the drama only showed the silhouettes of two men, sparking much speculation on social media. It has now been confirmed that Tanaka Kei and Fukazawa Tatsuya will play these roles.

Tanaka plays the husband, Kanzaki Hiroki, who is a successful company employee with a charming exterior but is harsh and emotionally distant at home. Despite once loving his wife, Kanzaki Miwa, he becomes increasingly indifferent as work consumes him, eventually leading to a strained marriage.

In the story, Miwa ends up spending a night with her childhood friend, Fuyutsuki Ryo, and becomes pregnant with his child. She decides to raise the child as her husband’s, while grappling with her own complex emotions and her husband’s dark secrets.

Fukazawa portrays Fuyutsuki Ryo, Miwa’s caring and supportive childhood friend who remains a comforting presence in her life. Despite their deep emotional bond, they never crossed any lines until a pivotal event led them to a fateful night together.

Tanaka is making his first appearance in “Thursday Drama” since “Unsung Cinderella” (2020), and Fukazawa is debuting in this role. The show will air every Thursday at 10 PM on Fuji TV, with an extended 15-minute premiere.

The striking visuals feature a stark contrast between the black-and-white images of the three main characters and the vibrant, intense title logo, symbolizing the dramatic and turbulent fate awaiting them.

Watashi no Takaramono” promises to be a gripping, adult romance exploring new marital taboos.
