“Ano Kuzu o Nagutte Yaritainda” Adds Watabe Atsuro and Saito Yuki to Cast
In the upcoming TBS drama “Ano Kuzu wo Nagutte Yaritainda” (I Want to Punch That Scumbag), which starts in October and airs every Tuesday at 10:00 PM, actors Watabe Atsuro and Saito Yuki have been announced as new cast members. Watabe will play the president of a boxing gym, while Saito will take on the role of Hokomi’s (played by Nao) mother.
The drama follows Sato Hokomi, who is left at the altar by her boyfriend on her wedding day. At this low point in her life, she meets a mysterious blonde man, Kuzuya Kairi (played by Tamamori Yuta of Kis-My-Ft2), and decides to start boxing to transform herself. The series portrays her serious commitment to both love and boxing in a unique, original screenplay that blends romance and comedy in the world of boxing.
This will be Watabe’s first regular role in a TBS drama since “Kurokochi” (2013), marking an 11-year gap. He will play Hanegi Nari, the president of the boxing gym where Hokomi trains, and a former boxer with experience as a Japanese champion. Initially, he strongly opposed his daughter Yui’s (played by Okazaki Sae) desire to start boxing. Although he had only a casual interest in helping Hokomi enjoy boxing, watching her struggle and grow reignites his long-lost passion for the sport.
Saito Yuki will portray Sato Akemi, Hokomi’s mother. Akemi has had a tumultuous life, starting with her first boyfriend from her rebellious youth, and has consistently found herself in relationships with unsuitable men. Despite this, she remains optimistic and has come to accept such relationships as part of life. Now running a small snack bar, Akemi continues to have a string of boyfriends, and Saito will bring her vibrant and entertaining character to life.
