Synopsis

In Tokyo, Arima Yoshio, the owner of a tofu shop, has been searching for his missing granddaughter Mari with no leads. One day, the police call him, reporting the discovery of a severed female arm in a park trash bin—alongside Mari’s identification. Soon after, an anonymous caller, using a voice modulator, claims the arm isn’t Mari’s and that she is buried elsewhere.

Meanwhile, freelance journalist Maebata Shigeko, who has been inactive for years, learns of Mari’s case. Through her editor, she contacts the man who found the severed arm. As Shigeko investigates, Yoshio receives disturbing calls from a possible suspect, tormenting the already traumatized old man. At the same time, similar murders begin occurring. Determined to uncover the truth, Shigeko digs deeper, inching closer to a horrifying revelation…
