Synopsis

Netflix are adapting the novel “Ikusagami” into a new series, with Okada Junichi starring as the lead role, alongside working on the series as producer and action planner.

Set in 1878 (in the 11th Year of the Meiji era) 292 highly skilled samurais gather at the Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto in order to compete in a dangerous battle royale, lured by the promise of a grand prize of 100 billion yen. The protagonist Saga Shujiro, decides to participate in order to save his sick wife and child.
