Synopsis

A former yakuza who lost everything… What does he witness upon returning to society after 14 years!?

 

“That bastard Ueshima!!!!” Yakuza member Jinnai Sosuke (Kitamura Yukiya) carried out an assassination attempt on a rival organization’s boss, with the promise of a 50 million yen reward and leadership of his gang. He thought he had completed the gamble of a lifetime, prepared to face prison time. However, as soon as he entered prison, all promises were broken, and he was ultimately expelled from his organization. What awaited him was only a lonely prison life.

 

Jinnai lost not only his yakuza status but was also abandoned by his family, losing everything. Fourteen years later, Jinnai is finally released and resolves to live as an ordinary citizen in a legitimate society, but he discovers that convenience store plastic bags now cost money, izakayas are completely non-smoking, and what the hell is a smartphone? Jinnai becomes confused by a world that has completely transformed over the past 14 years. Moreover, he finds himself standing at attention facing walls, talking to himself frequently, and displaying habits ingrained from years of prison life that unconsciously surface. A familiar man appears before this bewildered Jinnai: “You’ve got a severe case of prison syndrome…” This marks the beginning of a new nightmare.
