Synopsis

This shocking social drama tells the story of a girl burdened with the extraordinary fate of being “mukoseki” (without family registration) – essentially invisible to society. As she gradually uncovers the secrets surrounding her birth, she encounters a psychologically wounded man old enough to be her father.

Despite their misunderstandings, separation by those around them, and the societal barriers they face, the two slowly bridge the emotional distance between them. This powerful narrative explores their journey as they navigate the complexities of their unconventional relationship while confronting the harsh realities of Japan’s family registration system.

The drama tackles the serious social issue of individuals who exist outside Japan’s official family registry, examining how this legal limbo affects their ability to access basic services and find their place in society. Through their evolving bond, the story reveals the profound human connections that can form even in the most challenging circumstances.

This compelling love and family story sheds light on a rarely discussed social problem while delivering an emotionally charged narrative about healing, acceptance, and the power of human connection across generational divides.
