Synopsis

At megabank Hakusui Bank, discussions about additional financing for the giant supermarket chain Ippudo, which is undergoing business reconstruction, have become contentious. Credit examination officer Bando Hiroshi (Oda Yuji) believes that “the essence of lending lies in collection” and objects to financing Ippudo, which is not making reconstruction efforts. Meanwhile, Nito Tetsuya (Takashima Masanobu), deputy general manager of the planning department, who fears the bank will be affected by the fallout from bankruptcy, argues for pushing through the loan. Nito, who finds Bando’s presence bothersome, schemes to trap him.

Amid this situation, a bombing incident occurs at one of Ippudo’s stores. The received statement of responsibility demands the resignation of Kazama Kozo (Ryu Raita), the dictatorial chairman of Ippudo, and legal liquidation of the company, threatening to continue bombings if these demands are not accepted. Zaizen Tomoharu (Ishibashi Ryo) and Tomobe Yusaku (Ishiguro Ken) of Ippudo, concerned about falling stock prices, attempt to conceal the statement, but Bando strongly opposes this, arguing for disclosure to prevent the expansion of damage. Around the same time, Nozaru Hiromitsu (Itao Itsuji) from the First Investigation Division casts suspicious eyes on Inunaki Ki (Seto Koji), a young man who was at the scene.
