Synopsis

Komae Mitsuo (played by Muro Tsuyoshi), a 45-year-old advertising agency employee at Senkoku Company, is demoted and transferred to a struggling local branch office. Leaving his wife and daughter in Tokyo, he reluctantly moves to a city controlled by the yakuza – a “city of carnage” where survival is anything but guaranteed.

Appointed as branch manager of an office with just two employees, Komae faces an impossible ultimatum: dramatically increase performance or face immediate closure and termination. With a house mortgage and his daughter’s future education at stake, failure is not an option.

Leveraging his headquarters-developed sales strategies, Komae begins reviewing existing business relationships and pursuing new clients. But his efforts take a nightmarish turn when a sudden phone call from a new client – a flyer production company – changes everything.

The situation escalates when he discovers the client is the “Ryuzaki Group,” a yakuza organization. A catastrophic mistake in the flyer lands Komae in an unimaginable crisis. To make matters worse, another yakuza boss, Iwakiri, storms in with his demands.

Caught between two furious yakuza leaders, Komae’s life spirals into chaos. In a shocking twist, Iwakiri forcibly recruits Komae as a “sworn brother” into his organization. Now, our hapless salaryman is thrust into a dangerous double life, navigating the treacherous waters of advertising and organized crime.

Will Komae survive this unexpected “I-turn” in his life, or will an endless loop of misfortune consume him?
