Synopsis

The story begins after the Metropolitan Police Department launches a new “Crime Victim Support Unit” at West-Ikebukuro Police Station, which oversees Tokyo’s busy Ikebukuro district. The unit supports crime victims and bereaved families, helping them rebuild their lives, though every case requires a different approach depending on each victim’s trauma and circumstances.

At the center of the story is Kuroki Natsumi, a compassionate officer who naturally connects with victims. She is joined by psychologist Shiraishi Eriko, a temporary support counselor whose academic expertise is offset by her difficulty communicating with trauma survivors. Though the two women seem like complete opposites, both carry emotional scars of their own, and together they learn to support victims while making up for each other’s shortcomings.
