Synopsis

Yosuke, who works in the planning department of a major confectionery manufacturer, has been living an ordinary life with his young and beautiful second wife, Hikaru, and their son, Shota.

One day, he goes to meet the editor-in-chief of a women’s magazine that plans to feature a special article on a new line of diet sweets he has launched. To his surprise, the editor-in-chief turns out to be Chikako, his ex-wife whom he divorced ten years ago. Just as they begin to reminisce about their reunion, Chikako later tells him, “We can’t turn this into an article. The product probably won’t sell either,” which leaves Yosuke furious.

However, just as Chikako predicted, the product fails to sell. Yosuke is held responsible and is reassigned to a sales position. Struggling with this unfamiliar work, he does his best to support his family, but one day Hikaru suddenly asks him for a divorce. A few days later, she leaves home, abandoning Shota.

At work, Yosuke’s poor sales performance puts him at risk of being laid off, and he ultimately chooses to resign. Having lost everything, he ends up taking refuge at Chikako’s place.
