Synopsis

Yoriko spends her days carving sculptures alone from wood cut from the nearby mountains. One day, Yuri , an architect who has been working in both Tokyo and Taiwan, takes a few days off and visits Yoriko, to serve as a model for one of her sculptures.

Life in the quiet town of Nagi, far removed from the bustle of the city, moves at a gentle pace. Yoriko’s childhood friend Yoshihiro, who lost his wife, lives nearby, along with his son Haruki and Haruki’s close friend Keita. Encounters with these people begin to bring small ripples to their otherwise peaceful daily lives.

As Yuri serves as Yoriko’s sculpture model each night, she gradually comes to learn about the hidden loss Yoriko carries within her — and the experience begins to bring about changes in Yuri as well.
