This Japan-Taiwan international co-production is set primarily in Kagoshima City and Hioki City, with the story’s pivotal volcano symbolically represented by Iojima in the Mishima Village. Additionally, filming was conducted across four Taiwanese cities and regions: Taipei, Keelung, Yilan, and Pingtung. Set against these grand cross-border locations, the film depicts a 20-year journey that begins when a man, who travels to Taiwan to study painting, meets a Taiwanese indigenous artist.
