Synopsis

Based on the prize-winning novel of the same name by Yonezawa Honobu. Set during the Sengoku era, this epic mystery explores strange incidents that unfold during a castle siege and delves into the depths of human psychology.
 
The protagonist of this work is Araki Murashige, who rebelled against the tyrannical methods of Oda Nobunaga and executed a castle siege strategy. Surrounded by Oda’s forces and left completely isolated, Murashige struggled to protect the castle and its people while restraining his hot-blooded retainers within the fortress, drawing emotional support from his wife, Chiyoho.
 
At that time, an incident occurs in which a young boy is murdered within the castle. As mysterious incidents continue to happen one after another, suspicion and distrust begin to spiral among those trapped inside the fortress. Murashige teams up with the dangerous genius strategist Kuroda Kanbei, who is imprisoned in the castle dungeon, to unravel the mysteries behind these incidents.
