Synopsis

The protagonist, Hagiwara Kentaro, is a 25-year-old young man working at a small town factory. Burdened with a large debt left behind by his late parents, he is very poor, but he lives a happy life surrounded by his two younger brothers and warm-hearted friends.

One day, Kentaro makes a promise with his brothers: “Let’s go eat yakiniku (grilled meat) on payday!” However, on the much-awaited payday, the factory goes bankrupt. As a result, he doesn’t receive his salary, debt collectors come after him, and to make matters worse, he is evicted from the house he was living in due to unpaid rent.

After that, Kentaro begins looking for a new job, and through his childhood friend Michiko, he gets introduced to a building maintenance company under the major international insurance company, “Universal Insurance.” One day, Kentaro, by chance, picks up an important file and uses it to blackmail the company’s director, Kashiwagi, into offering him a job. However, instead of being rewarded, he is fired from the building maintenance company.

But Kentaro doesn’t give up. He impersonates an employee of Universal Insurance and convinces the file’s owner, Osawa, to cooperate with him. Together, they successfully win a large contract that was at stake.

This lucky turn of events catches the eye of the company’s president, Himuro, and Kentaro is officially hired as an employee of Universal Insurance.
