Synopsis

Based on the light novel by Kureha which has since been adapted into a manga, Oni no Hanayome will be adapted into a live action movie to be released in March 2026.
 
The story is set in a world where ayakashi (supernatural beings) and humans live side by side.
These ayakashi captivate people with their exceptional beauty and abilities, and occasionally select brides from among humans. For an ayakashi, a bride represents a once-in-a-lifetime bond – once they choose their bride, they devote their love exclusively to that person for the rest of their lives.
 
Shinonome Yuzu, a university student who has endured neglect and mistreatment from her family, suddenly finds herself chosen as the bride by Kiryuin Reiya, the heir to the powerful “oni” clan that stands at the pinnacle of ayakashi society. From that moment, Yuzu’s fate begins to shift dramatically.
