Synopsis

Based on a novel by Kawakami Mieko, the story centers on Irie Fuyuko, a freelance copy editor in her mid-thirties. She has lived her life in solitude, shutting herself off from others. When she meets an older man in his fifties, named Mitsutsuka, she is forced to confront her own loneliness and emotions.
