Synopsis

Adapted from a novel by Terachi Haruna, this film follows the dysfunctional Haneko family, who spend nearly 30 years turning away from “inconvenient truths.” At the center is a mother who refuses to face reality after the death of her younger son. The story captures the lies and bonds of a family that is “imperfect, troublesome, yet somehow lovable.” Filming took place entirely on location in Saga, the setting of the original work, in 2024.
