Synopsis

It has been announced that Toda Erika will star in the Netflix series “Jigoku ni Ochiru wa yo” which will stream worldwide exclusively in April 2026. The drama portrays the life of fortune teller Hosoki Kazuko, who captured national attention from the Showa era through the Heisei era. Toda takes on the role of Hosoki herself.
 
Hosoki became known for her sharp words such as “You’re going to die” and “You’ll go straight to hell.” She frequently appeared in the media, even hosting her own television program, and her book set a Guinness World Record as the “best-selling fortune-telling book in the world,” sparking a nationwide phenomenon in the 2000s. Yet before becoming a fortune teller in her mid-forties, she had a past shaped by shocking, even unthinkable methods of forging her own path.
The series portrays her tumultuous life; a woman who would stop at nothing to fulfill her ambitions, yet possessed a magnetic charisma that irresistibly drew people to her.
