Synopsis

Set in Tokyo’s Adachi Ward and Kyonan Town in Chiba, this film follows Fukuhara Saori, a 26-year-old temporary office worker who feels suffocated by the pressures of her job and personal relationships. One day, while on her way to surprise a loved one with a necklace for their birthday, she unexpectedly witnesses his betrayal. Heartbroken on her way home, she stops by a local izakaya, where she meets Umino Miu, a part-time worker. This chance encounter slowly begins to change the course of Saori’s everyday life.

As Saori begins spending time with Miu, her world starts to shift little by little. Saori has been estranged from her family for years. Ever since she left home during her school days, she hasn’t spoken to her mother or returned. But when her mother is suddenly diagnosed with a serious illness, Saori, accompanied by Miu, makes the difficult decision to return home for the first time in a long while.
