Synopsis

This original comedy stars Tsumabuki Satoshi and Kitagawa Keiko as a fake married couple, depicting the chaotic behind-the-scenes world of the glamorous advertising industry. Ota Kiichiro, a failing advertising executive, gets stuck with an assignment from his eccentric boss to serve as a judge at the Santa Monica International Advertising Festival, the world’s premier competition for television commercials. Since the nightly parties require a companion, his gambling-loving colleague Ota Hikari agrees to accompany him as his fake wife.

 

When the glitzy judging competition begins, Ota discovers that if a chikuwa commercial doesn’t win an award, he’ll lose his job. Struggling with the political maneuvering and theatrical performances required, he relies increasingly on Hikari’s assistance, and gradually the two grow closer together.
