Synopsis

Directed by Horii Ayaka, this fantasy prequel to Tobenai Tenshi follows an otherworldly escape by Nakanishi Yuka, an office worker worn out by city life, and Tsuji Sotaro, who sneaks out of the hospital. Set against the backdrop of George Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on Penang Island in Malaysia, the film explores Sotaro’s dreamlike journey of imagination.
In the story, Sotaro who is undergoing medical treatment, lies on the hospital rooftop with his eyes closed when a strange voice comes through the radio. As he listens and slowly opens his eyes, he finds himself on an unfamiliar, foreign island. There, he meets Mimi, a woman known as an “angel,” and Daniel, the man who loves her. As Sotaro begins to journey with them, he is gradually forced to confront himself.
