Synopsis

“Nakayama Kyoto no Jinsei Test” takes place at an elementary school in Yamanashi Prefecture, where the story follows Nakayama Haruhiko (Shibukawa Kiyohiko), an utterly ordinary vice principal preparing for his promotion exam to become principal. Once a passionate teacher, Haruhiko has become somewhat unreliable in his current role. Through an unexpected turn of events, he becomes the temporary homeroom teacher for Class 5-1. While appearing to be a typical elementary school class, it’s actually filled with issues—a “microcosm of modern society.” As Haruhiko supports the students in their daily lives, he gradually experiences subtle changes in himself.
