Synopsis

Inspired by a true story which took place in the UK in 2016, when a video of Tedd McDermott, who has Alzheimers Disease, and his son Simon singing became popular after it was uploaded to YouTube. As a consequence, Tedd made his CD debut at the age of 80 years old, which made him the oldest singer in the UK.

The film takes place in Japan, following a story reimagined through a father and son living in Yokosuka, Kanagawa. It portrays the life of Mamiya Tetta, a father who once dreamed of making his record debut in his youth but gave up for the sake of his son. While running a music shop in his hometown of Yokosuka and performing on local stages, he is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease one day. What keeps this father, who is gradually losing all his memories, grounded are his son Yuta and wife Ritsuko, who continue to believe in and support him, the strong bonds with his companions, and the music he loved. This helps Tetta to move forward once again and fulfill his dream of making a record debut.
