Synopsis

“Konya, Sukiyaki da yo!” centers on the lives of two women in their 30s. Aiko is a freelance interior designer who wishes to marry her current boyfriend, but envisions herself as far from the ideal housewife due to her struggles with general household chores. Tomoko is a picture book illustrator who describes herself as an aromantic, due to her lack of interest in romantic feelings. She is savvy with housework but is in a slump in her working life. Both of the women have very different outlooks on the societal “norms” of marriage and love but they both decide to share a house together. Based on a manga by Taniguchi Natsuko. (Winner of the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Award)
