It was announced on 11/27 that Tamaki Hiroshi (30) will be playing the villain, Minamoto no Yoshitomo, opposite Matsuyama Kenichi in NHK’s next taiga drama, “Taira no Kiyomori.” Yoshitomo is an essential character when it comes to the Kiyomori story. During the Heiji revolt, Yoshitomo opposed Kiyomori. He was also a personality that boosted samurais to the forefront in Japan. This will be Tamaki’s third taiga drama, his other taiga dramas were “Koumyou ga Tsuji” (2006), “Atsuhime” (2008).

Tamaki is most notably known for his comical portrayal of a genius conductor in the manga-based drama series, “Nodame Cantabile.” Tamaki is a young actor with an extensive list of roles and he can currently be seen in Fuji TV’s drama, “Guilty” and the last movie he was in was “MW.” NHK officials have high hopes for Tamaki saying he’s the perfect actor to portray the role.
