Shinohara Ryoko Returns in Unfair Movie Sequel

In January 2006, the drama series Unfair aired and gained widespread popularity, then in March of 2007, the Unfair movie opened publicly with box office revenues of over 2.7 billion yen making it a huge hit. So, it’s only obvious to make another Unfair movie, “Unfair 2.” Shinohara Ryoko will be returning as the protagonist, Yukihara Natsumi. Others in the cast that are returning to create this movie after 4 years are: Abe Sadao, Kato Masaya, Terajima Susumu, and Kagawa Teruyuki. The answer to the biggest question about the protagonist was also announced.

Currently, Shinohara Ryoko’s drama “Ogon no Buta” is being aired and is doing great. For Unfair 2, Yukihara Natsumi (Shinohara Ryoko) will be demoted and will have to start from the ground up. Yukihara stands up against a great evil and gets intertwined in a complex situation. Again someone important to Yukihara makes her a target, and she chases that person down herself. This is the typical “Unfair” that we know, who do you trust, what do you trust… it’s about underestimated suspense.

Shinohara commented on playing Yukihara again for the second movie, “I’ll be portraying Yukihara Natsumi again. We’ll be creating ‘Unfair’ with the staff and cast soon.” Up till now many individuals like Miura Haruma, Eita, Shiina Kippei, Eguchi Yosuke have portrayed characters that have died in the franchise, however for this movie three people were cast as essential figures in the storyline. Filming will start in February 2011 until April with plans to wrap up filming in the summer.

“Unfair 2” is set to open nationwide in Japan in Fall 2011.
