Former actress Sakai Noriko (39) who was found guilty of drug possession and use last November released her autobiographical book, “Shokuzai” (Atonement) recently. According to the Oricon charts, Sakai’s book debuted in 1st place in the Entertainment Book Category, but it ranked 27th overall.

Reviews over at [amazon_link id=”4023308870″ target=”_blank” locale=”JP” ]Amazon Japan[/amazon_link] are unfavorable with only a 2 out of 5 star rating. Many fans are distraught saying Sakai Noriko’s book was opportunistic and she’s only after the money. Some have even commented that the book doesn’t sound like it was written by Sakai at all. A few die-hard fans have disowned Sakai as their idol completely. But despite all the bad reviews so far, “Shokuzai” will be localized in a couple of Asian countries. There’s also interest in turning it into a TV drama series as well.
