Mizuhara Kiko Joins #MeTooMovement Speaks Out Against Ride or Die Producer

Mizuhara Kiko started a Instagram live and briefly discussed about her allegations against Umekawa Haruo, Netflix’s Ride or Die producer.

Bunshun, a Japanese tabloid news outlet, wrote several articles about the subject and references a producer who abused his power by promising girls that they’d be in a movie if they sent him explicit photos.

This same producer was involved in the Netflix movie “Kanojo/Ride or Die” starring Mizuhara Kiko. She was the one on set that requested an intimacy coordinator which is common in Hollywood. Kiko mentions that sexual harassment and abuse is prevalent in the entertainment industry. She was reportedly abused by this same producer, Umekawa Haruo.

The producer didn’t understand the need for an intimacy coordinator. In a sex scene that Kiko shot, the older male co-star refused to cover his private parts and Kiko felt forced to shoot the scene. This was when she asked for an intimacy coordinator.

This producer has been known to request explicit photos from young actresses.

This producer is also director Sono Sion’s right hand man. He’s been outed by several actresses last week of sexual harassment. You can read about it here on Variety.com.

You can also read about Umekawa’s allegations here on Variety too.

To wrap it up, Kiko appeared on IG live to vent her frustrations about the Japanese entertainment industry. She said she’s fine and will do her best to move forward. Finally, Japanese actresses are speaking up and joining the #Metoomovement

Kiko waved bye at the end and said gambarimasu. Let’s send some love to Kiko today. <33333 You can find her on Twitter @kikoxxx and also on Instagram i_am_kiko
