It was announced that Seino Nana will star in “Kingdom 2 – Harukanaru Daichi e,” which roughly translated to “Kingdom 2 – To the distant land.” She will debut as Qiang Lei in the second installment.
The first movie was adapted by Sato Shinsuke and based off of the manga by Hara Yasuhisa. The film portrays the life of Li Xin, a general of Qin, from his childhood as an orphan through his military career during the Warring States period of ancient China. The first film was released in April 2019 and was a box-office hit earning 5.73 billion yen. Also returning to reprise their roles are Yamazaki Kento as Xin, Yoshizawa Ryo as Piao, and Hashimoto Kanna as He Liao Diao.
Seino’s character, Qiang Lei, comes from a legendary clan of assassins, with a history going back a 1000 years. She uses a special breathing technique called “Mibu” which makes it seem she’s dancing with a god while fighting.
“Kingdom 2 – Harukanaru Daichi e” will open in Japan in the summer of 2022.
