On November 17th, Fuji TV announced that they’ll be broadcasting the 10 episode drama series, “Tokyo Control,” in 3D starting January 19th via Sky Perfect. This will be Japan’s first 3D drama series. An announcement event was held on the 17th and lead actress Kawahara Ayako said, “The appeal of things in 3D have increased.”

The drama is set in Tokyo’s air traffic control department, “Tokyo Control” for short. The drama depicts the human relationships of the calm and supportive controllers who save airplanes in trouble.

Along with Kawahara at the announcement was fellow actor Saburo Tokito. On the subject of the drama’s appeal, Kawahara stated, “You can actually experience it in 3D. I think it’s easier to get into the feelings of the story more.”
