‘Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo’ New Poster and Trailer Released-Theme Song by Wednesday Campanella
Actress Amami Yuki is set to star in the upcoming film Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo (ふしぎ駄菓子屋 銭天堂), scheduled for release on December 13. The latest trailer and main poster for the film have been unveiled, and the theme song has been revealed as “Negai wa Gyousan” (願いはぎょうさん), a new track by the band Wednesday Campanella, inspired by the movie’s world.
The film adapts the popular children’s novel series “Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo, written by Hiroshima Reiko and illustrated by jyajya, into a live-action feature. Directed by Nakata Hideo, the film follows the whimsical adventures of those who visit the mysterious candy shop “Zenitendo,” where magical treats grant wishes.
The newly released trailer features a catchy and rhythmic theme song, “Negai wa Gyousan,” and showcases new scenes with the cast. The footage introduces Kotaro (played by Ohashi Kazuya), a rookie teacher, surrounded by students grappling with their own troubles.
Kotaro’s university junior, Aida Yoko (played by Ihara Rikka), despite being a fashion magazine editor, is fashionably challenged, while Kotaro’s sister, Madoka (played by Hirosawa Kokoro), struggles with self-doubt as she pursues art school. As they find their way to the “Zenitendo,” they encounter intriguing candies like “Yama Canned Goods” and “Mote-Mote Mochi,” only to be met with the sinister smiles of the “Tatarime-do” shopkeeper, Yodomi, who harbors dark intentions.
The poster vividly contrasts “light and darkness” as central themes, reflecting the duality of the film. It features a bright, sparkling left side with Kotaro and Yoko’s radiant smiles and a scattering of “Zenitendo” candies, some of which are key to the story. Conversely, the dark, menacing right side of the poster shows Yodomi with a threatening grin, surrounded by ominous candies from “Tatarime-do,” hinting at the misfortune they may bring. The film’s captivating visuals and intriguing plot promise a compelling experience.
