Fukada Kyoko’s First Stab at Voice Acting For Anime

It was announced on November 16th, actress Fukada Kyoko will take her first stab at voice acting for a Warner Brother’s Japanese production of a featured-length animation, “Tofu Kozo”–translated as “Little Tofu Boy.” Earlier this year, Fukada did some dubbing voice work as the White Queen in Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland,” however in this current production, she’ll be lending her voice talents to the protagonist, a boy who carries tofu to an Obon (Festival of the Dead) festival. Fukada said, “During post-recording, it was difficult to perform only with my voice and with how my voice came out. It was a tough fight.” Fukada also stated, “I’m looking forward to seeing Tofu boy move on screen with my voice.”

The movie is set for a 2011 release.
