It was reported in Josei Seven magazine (on sale 12/2) that actor Kanda Masaki (59) and talent Hasegawa Rie (37) are in a serious relationship. The same magazine also reports that in May of this year, Kanda and Hasegawa met on the set of Kanda’s TV show “Asa da! Nama desu Tabi Salad” which Hasegawa was a guest on and the relationship started roughly in June. Management agencies for both have confirmed of the relationship. Nothing is getting in the way, so it’s possible the two might get married despite their 22 year age difference.
Thus the birth of an amazing couple with a 22 year age difference. According to Josei Seven, sparks flew on May 15th, when Hasegawa appeared on “Asa da! Nama desu Tabi Salad” which Kanda is chairman of. Hasegawa is an expert on vegetables and they flew to southern Italy for the subject. During the live broadcast they hit it off while talking.
Kanda likes golf, Hasegawa likes running, and both love sports. Hasegawa’s hometown is in Kamakura, Kanda at one point lived there, too. They both have a lot in common. In June, Kanda took Hasegawa to an intimate restaurant and they developed a rapid friendship. Several eye witnesses have seen them coming and going on numerous occasions from Kanda’s metropolitan apartment recently. There’s also a published photograph in Josei Seven of the couple in the vicinity of the apartment, too.
Hasegawa’s ex-boyfriend was actor Ishida Junichi (56), a 19 year age difference. Kanda is only 3 years more than that, so it looks like age isn’t an issue.
After 1997, Kanda divorced singer Matsuda Seiko (48) and was in a relationship with Ikegami Kimiko (51), who was a high class Ginza club manager. But now Kanda and Hasegawa are “free,” so there’s no reason to hide the relationship.
