The opening scene of the first episode of “Kanpeki Wife ni Yoru Kanpeki Fukushuu” (The Flawless Revenge by the Flawless Wife) is a shocker. Right from the start, Amamiya Narumi (Nakamura Yurika) confronts her cheating husband, Amamiya Shuto (Inukai Atsuhiro), in front of both their mothers, presenting undeniable proof of his affair. Online, viewers were quick to react, with some commenting, “Still a scumbag as usual this week.”

Inukai, known for playing the hero in Kamen Rider Build (TV Asahi), is tackling his first role as a cheating husband. He remarked, “It’s different from my usual roles, but that makes it more interesting and fun. Even the kids who watched Kamen Rider are a little older now, so I hope it’s okay if things get awkward.” He laughed, then added, “But honestly, it’s been harder to communicate with my family since this role.”

Reflecting on the filming, Inukai noted, “While the drama was full of tense moments, off-camera, the atmosphere on set was super friendly.” Nakamura added, “I managed to play the perfect, strong wife until the end. I love portraying independent, strong women, so I’m grateful for the role.”

When asked if playing these roles made them rethink marriage, the single actors immediately denied it, laughing, “No way!” Inukai admitted, “It’s only natural, but this role reminded me that it’s best to stay committed to one person. I realized how important it is to be grateful for your partner.”

Nakamura’s character discovers signs of her husband’s affair through unopened bottles of chili powder, gathering evidence little by little to corner him. She described the set as “incredibly comfortable,” while Inukai shared, “It made me think more deeply about infidelity. It’s not something I’d ever want to experience, but it’s been interesting to explore through this role.”

As the drama continues, the tension will only rise, with Nakamura teasing, “You’ll be on the edge of your seat as the wife holds back her emotions and waits for the right moment to strike. The real payback is coming, and it’s going to be intense!”
