Sakai Noriko’s Drug Incident Becomes Documentary, Release Next Spring
Singer Rudie Jap releases a song on 12/22 titled, “Jibaku no Idol” (Self-destructing Idol) that will be the background music for a documentary-style movie based on former actress Sakai Noriko’s drug incident.
The movie was originally set for a public release this past January, but there were some issues related to using Noriko’s likeness that postponed it. The issue has cleared and the movie will come to mini theaters nationwide this coming spring. Noriko’s step-mother will be making an appearance in the beginning, and she’ll be talking about drugs and the connection they had. Images and shots of Noriko will be used in the documentary.
The director was unable to directly contact Noriko because at the beginning of this year he was told that she won’t participate in any activities related to the entertainment industry until her probation period is over. She’ll be making her comeback as an actress.
