As many of you know, Drama-Otaku has always been a passion project — built for fans, by fans. 💖 I started this site out of love for Japanese dramas and the incredible community that’s grown around them.

Up to now, I’ve personally been covering most of the costs — from servers and bandwidth to hosting and maintenance — and both I and our small volunteer staff have spent countless hours keeping everything running. Donations and Patreon support have helped tremendously, but as our community keeps growing, so do the hosting and bandwidth bills… and we’ve finally reached the point where we need to make some changes to keep the site sustainable. 😅

To keep things running smoothly, we’ll be ending the “all-you-can-download buffet” and introducing a daily download limit of 6 GB per Subscriber (non-Patreon, non-Contributor/fansubber).
Don’t worry — that’s still plenty for most fans to enjoy their favorite dramas every day! And we’ll be running free leech days to keep things balanced.

If you’re already supporting us on Patreon or contributing to the site as a fansubber, you’ll be grandfathered in with unlimited bandwidth.
